This Privacy Policy explains how Tayibnb ("Tayibnb", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you use our website and booking platform (the "Platform"). Tayibnb is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign up, our authentication provider collects and stores your name, username, email address, and (if provided) a profile photo. We store a copy of this information to operate your profile, listings, and bookings.

Booking and listing information

If you book a stay, we collect booking details such as the property, dates, number of guests, and amounts paid. If you list a property as a Host, we collect the listing details you provide, including descriptions, photos, pricing, and amenity information.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number, CVC, or other sensitive card data. We retain limited payment metadata (such as transaction identifiers, amounts, currency, and status) needed to manage bookings, refunds, and Host payouts. Hosts who wish to receive payouts must complete identity verification directly with Stripe (Stripe Connect); we receive confirmation of verification status but not the underlying identity documents.

Communications

We send transactional emails related to your bookings (such as booking confirmations and host notifications) using a third-party email delivery provider.

Technical and usage data

We automatically collect limited technical information when you use the Platform, including IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and error/crash diagnostics, through our error-monitoring provider. This helps us diagnose and fix issues.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal data to:

• Create and manage your account and profile;
• Process bookings, payments, cancellations, refunds, and Host payouts;
• Send transactional emails about your bookings and account;
• Maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Platform, including detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and double bookings;
• Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations; and
• Respond to support requests.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Platform and process your bookings), legitimate interests (to keep the Platform secure and improve our services), and compliance with legal obligations (such as tax record-keeping). Where we rely on consent (for example, for optional communications), you may withdraw that consent at any time.

4. Sharing Your Information

We share personal data with the following categories of third-party service providers, each acting as our processor or as an independent controller for their own services:

• Authentication provider – manages your account credentials, login sessions, and profile identity;
• Payment processor – processes payments, refunds, and Host payouts (Stripe and Stripe Connect);
• Database and storage provider – hosts our application database and uploaded listing images;
• Email delivery provider – sends transactional emails on our behalf;
• Error monitoring provider – receives diagnostic and crash data to help us fix bugs;
• Hosting provider – runs the Platform's servers and infrastructure.

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tayibnb, our users, or others.

5. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, as implemented by our service providers.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Platform currently uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function – primarily to keep you signed in and to protect your session. These cookies do not require consent under applicable e-privacy rules. We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent where required.

7. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Booking and payment records are retained for as long as necessary to resolve disputes, provide support, and comply with applicable tax and accounting laws (which may require retention of transaction records for several years after the transaction). When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; restrict or object to certain processing; and receive a copy of your data in a portable format. If you are located in the EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).

9. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal data, including row-level database access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and restricted access to payment and identity data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from, individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
